Local fiber artist and spinning expert Anna Zinsmeister will lead us through a hands-on experience spinning local Karakul sheep wool sourced from a ranch in the northern fringes of Los Angeles County. We’ll discuss the process and challenges of processing fleece into spin-able material, practice spinning with a hand spindle, and learn a bit about the various types of wool fibers and their uses.
