From the Ground Up

Join a collective of artists and producers showcasing what’s possible with plant and animal material grown, foraged, and cared for in our ecosystem. The Southern California chapter of Fibershed will present an interactive display of local plant and animal fibers as well as garments from the Slow and Local Clothing Project; spinning demos with yard cotton and wool; and will launch the region’s first Fiber Sourcebook. Current Shapes’ artists Francisca Gonzalez and Danica Durant will host a Signs of Spring Screen Printing Workshop and Marketplace. Angie Correa of These Hands are Made of Gold will demo Natural Dyeing from the Kitchen and Garden; special guests Climate Reality Project and Fair Trade LA will be on hand, and artist Lea Feinstein will present an installation of her nature inspired paintings.
