This year’s Fibershed symposium focuses on how our natural fiber and dye systems positively impact soil and sea. The largest carbon pools on planet earth are the scapes in which we humans work, and the impacts of our lives are made evident. The work that fibershed producers do each day is instrumental in producing textiles and durable goods that benefit the earth’s largest carbon pools.

The National Heirloom Expo is a rare gathering in Santa Rosa, California of gardeners, food activists, farmers, and seedy people from all over the country. With educational lectures, activities, and incredible keynote speakers, the Expo brings in 20,000+ people while raising awareness about heirloom seeds and the threat of GMOs.
The purpose of this conference is therefore three-fold: First, to further promote natural dyes as a crucial response to contemporary environmental concerns, health and socio-economic disparities, and creative fields. Second, to foster new knowledge networks to support the development of the natural dye sector in Northeast America and third, to offer a space for the natural dye community to come together to explore and further develop best practices.
Now in its 5th year, the annual Anti_Fashion Conference will travel from the University of Marseille to Parsons in New York for the first time. Early Bird Tickets are available until Sat Feb 29th.
